Essentially, installation of a wheel cover means lacing it on your wheel. It can be done inside the vehicle, or after having the wheel removed, and both approaches have pros and cons.
If you decide to tackle this project yourself, we have a full write-up with all the details: how to install a steering wheel cover. It covers caveats for installation inside the vehicle, as well as details on removing the wheel, which is easier than most people think.
If you'd rather watch, then read, here's our steering wheel cover installation video. It will show you every step from removing the wheel, through installing optional add-ons such as padding and thumb-grips, to finally wrapping the wheel and putting it back on the car:
Please consider using our qualified installer - you or your mechanic remove the wheel, ship it and the wrap to our installer, have it back within 48 hours for re-installation! Please read more on this offer here!
Warning!
Test-fit the wrap before anything else! Pull it on the wheel. It WILL BE TIGHT but don't worry, it will not break if you stretch it evenly around it's perimeter! Refer to the product description of the particular steering wheel cover you had purchased to see whether it replaces the factory leather, or goes over it (which is the case for some wheels especially those which came with the wheel heating option). Then verify, that:
1) The extensions for the spokes fit your wheel.
2) There is gap between the edges of our leather once you pull it on the wheel, consistent in size around the wheel.
The size of the gap depends on options chosen (factory wheel is leather vs plastic/molded - our cover being designed to go over or replace the factory leather, whether you chose our steering wheel padding upgrade).
DO NOT DO ANYTHING IRREVERSIBLE until you are confident the wrap will fit and please do not hesitate to contact us in case of any concerns! We are here to help!
