2019-24 FORD RANGER
armrest cover installation guide

1. Start by removing USB/power cover from rear of console.

2. Grab at storage cubby at top and pull straight back, pops out relatively easily from the four holding clips

3. Next remove the four 7mm hex head fasteners that secure hinge to console .

4. Now pull back on the rear trim bezel of console, there are three finger style clips along either side.

5. You do not need to remove completely, just pull back enough to let hinge slip by and out of console.

6. With a pair of plastic trim tools or similar (I made two from stiff plastic and beveled one end), insert between outer lid (top) and the plastic inner lid, pry upward.

7. It takes a decent medium amout of pressure, and work your way along both sides of lid to loosen the six clips to separate the two pieces.

8. Next use a T25 torx bit and remove four fasteners holding hinge to lid and remove to make more room to work.

9. Now you can lay the upper lid on top of the new leather cover and any foam you may be using, take your favorite contact cement and start the glue up! Work along both sides pulling the material snugly around edge and hold in place with something suitable, office binder clips workd well for me, then the back edge and lastly along the front edge. I found on the front it worked best to start at the point that sticks out (drivers side) and then across to the pass side, pulling material snugly and fastening in place as you go to minimize wrinkling or creases, it is a compound curve along this edge (side-to-side & top-to-bottom) so there will be very slight creasing in the leather (tricky to form material into a weird spot). I also chose to add a bit of padding along front edge, you fellow Ranger owners know the elbow whacking that goes on there!

10. Once glued up and it is all set up, reassemble in reverse order above (hinge and torx fasteners, snap two covers back together).

11. Reinstall and enjoy your new armrest!

Useful tip

You have installed a product made out of genuine leather. As you know, to maintain a leather product in good condition, you should take care of it. We suggest occasionally (every 4-6 week for example) applying some leather conditioner/UV protector to keep your leather from drying up in the sun and cracking.
