1. Use a trim puller to remove the cover of the shifter. |

2. Use a T20 torx driver to remove the screw. |
 |
|
3. Pull up on the shifter until it breaks free along with the boot beneath. |
 |
|
4. Turn the shifter over and with a flat screwdriver gently pry the two tabs that attach the shifter to the boot. |
 |
|
5. Once the boot is free, gently pry the leather away from the inside of the shifter collar. Remove staples attaching the boot to the base. Install the new boot instead of the old one, using staples or glue (either will work just fine). Slide the retaining ring onto the shifter, noting there is only one direction it can be attached (corner tab). |

6. Replace shifter in console as far as it will go, and gently squeeze the plastic clip into the designated opening. |

7. Reinstall the T20 torx screw. |
 |
|
8. Pop the cover back into the shifter. |
 |
|
Useful tip You have installed a product made out of genuine leather. As you know, to maintain a leather product in good condition, you should take care of it. We suggest occasionally (every 4-6 week for example) applying some leather conditioner/UV protector to keep your leather from drying up in the sun and cracking. |
