90-94 MAZDA323 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Begin by removing the shift knob. This is threaded, and should
screw right off.
2. Next, open the center console, and remove anything that might be
in it.
3. Remove the ash-tray and remove the screw underneath it.
4. Remove the two screws (one on each side) on the front section of
the center console.
5. Remove the two screws (one of each side) located where the center
consoles meet.
6. Remove the rear center console, then the front one. It will
require some wiggling around, try to put the gear into 3, raise the ebrake,
raise the rear part of the front console, get it over the ebrake handle, lower
the ebrake and pull back and up.
7. This is what you will see when you flip the front section over.
Remove the screws, thus detaching the shift boot assembly from the console.
8. Remove the shift boot from the frame by taking out the staples.
Mount the new boot in its place, either by using a staple gun or by glueing the
new boot (any epoxy-based glue will work very well). Reinstall the frame in the
center console.
8. This is what you will see when you flip the rear section over.
Remove the metal pins (lift them up with a sharp knife, then pull evenly with
small pliers).
9. Remove the plastic part and the rubber one underneath it. The
rubber part is not needed anymore. Put the boot on the plastic prongs, squeeze
it down with the plastic part and replace the pins (you may want to bang them
flat with a hammer first). It's best to push the pins back down with pliers,
evenly, as far as they will go.
10. Reinstall both consoles, front part first. Replace the 5 screws.

Useful tip
You have installed a product made out of genuine leather. As you know, to maintain a leather product in good condition, you should take care of it. We suggest occasionally (every 4-6 week for example) applying some leather conditioner/UV protector to keep your leather from drying up in the sun and cracking.
