1991-97 TOYOTA LANDCRUISER
shift boot installation guide

Looking for a Toyota Landcruiser shift boot? We offer the best ones out there!

1. Remove Gear Knob (unscrew anticlockwise) from the transfer case.

2. The easy way is to just unsnap the boot from the small tabs that are holding it using the pictures provided. BUT if you want to see what you are doing, remove the four screws (two on each side) with a phillips head screwdriver. Move seats all the way to the rear to get at the rear screws.

3. The console will lift up but you must disconnect the plug for the tranmission Power/2nd start buttons.

4. Turn on ignition, foot on brake and move gear shift to D. Console will lift up but you will have to push gear shift button in and slide console over it being care full not to scrape too much.

5. If you have purchased the RedlineGoods boot with a bracket just snap the new boot in lieu of the old one. If you didn't go for the bracket, you have to remove it from the old boot and feed it through the hem in the new boot.

6. Re-install everything in reverse order of removal.

7. Original boot is tucked under the carpet so the easiest way is to simply slip it out and pull it over the handle, opening the velcro to fit over. You can also remove the whole console with a 10mm socket and ratchet extention, but not neccessary. (two bolts inside console, one in cupholder).

7. Open the velcro on the new boot and slide over emergency brake handle. Start tucking one side of the wore frame under the carpet then work your way around untill it is all the way under. Close velcro on top.

CONGRATULATIONS - YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED YOUR NEW LEATHER BOOTS!

Useful tip

You have installed a product made out of genuine leather. As you know, to maintain a leather product in good condition, you should take care of it. We suggest occasionally (every 4-6 week for example) applying some leather conditioner/UV protector to keep your leather from drying up in the sun and cracking.
