1. RedlineGoods provided the thread and one needle, I grabbed another needle so I could a baseball stitch patternto match my steering wheel. Depending on the stitch pattern you choose (100s of videos on YouTube with different styles) you will or will not need the second needle. I also used some thin double sided tape to hold the cover in place. |

2. The cover was a perfect fit, it slid right over the shift button and lined up amazingly. The double sided tape was used to hold the flaps in place and keep it aligned even with the top and bottom of the plastic shift assembly. |

3. Chose what pattern you would like to use. I decided to do a baseball stitch to match my steering wheel. To do this I removed the thread that came sewn into the cover. The holes left from the stitching where perfect to used with the new pattern. Again, removal of the stock threads is not necessary for many lacing styles. Make sure you keep the cover aligned as you go and keep the laces tight. Every two-three holes I pulled the thread tight. |

4. Starting from the top, pull the slack down to the desired tension using a needle. The thread provided by RedlineGoods was great and didn't break or fray at all. I had to re-tighten a few times to get the desired look, but it wasn't hard at all. Once the thread has been laced and you are satisfied, it's time to tie it off. I just did a square knot at the end and snipped off the excess thread. |

Useful tip You have installed a product made out of genuine leather. As you know, to maintain a leather product in good condition, you should take care of it. We suggest occasionally (every 4-6 week for example) applying some leather conditioner/UV protector to keep your leather from drying up in the sun and cracking. |
