1. Remove the shift knob by turning it counter-clockwise. If the boot begins to twist with the knob, grasp the top of the boot to prevent this.
2. Remove the plastic trim that the boot is attached to by hooking your finger through the boot and under the plastic. Lift gently until the 4 clips pop free (there is one clip in each corner).
3. Turn the trim over and remove the shift boot by pulling the edges out from under the plastic clips on the bottom of the trim. There is a metal wire ring inside the boot that must clear the clips in order to remove the boot.
